An experiment in stereo space, with left and right bands performing together

This is a special album featuring a "confrontation" between two different orchestras: British big band leader Ted Heath and Latin orchestra leader Edmundo Ros. Early stereo recording technology was utilized.

The greatest feature of this album is the acoustic design, which completely separates the Ted Heath Orchestra on the left channel and the Edmundo Ros Orchestra on the right channel. This allows the swing jazz brass sounds on the one hand and the Latin percussion ensemble on the other to be clearly developed on the left and right of the listener. Not only do the two perform alternately, but sometimes they even play the same songs simultaneously, creating an experimental blend of the two musical styles within the stereo field.
